Employee Engagement

This programme is based in the research undertaken by the “Gallup Organisation” into the affect good employee engagement has in relationship to strong customer satisfaction. Gallup determined that without strong employee engagement within the organisation there is little or no chance of staff providing high levels of customer service.

The level of employee engagement is determined through a series of 12 questions, which focus on a “Hierarchical” scale of the employees needs and wants and is based on how the employees respond to each question. The responses to these questions determine employee engagement in three levels, Engaged, Not Engaged, Actively Disengaged.

The Concept
Efficient Solutions uses the proven concepts of Lean Production in identifying and removing bottlenecks within the flow of work that hinder efficiency.

Establishment of standard work procedures (SWP) ensures all processes, materials and information flow correctly and all staff can identify where procedures are not followed or may need to be altered to meet a changing business.

Establishing a culture of workplace cleanliness is developed using the 5S principles of Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise  and Sustain. These principles are the foundation to developing efficient work flow and work practices and contribute to employee safety, satisfaction and comfort. In addition the sustainment of 5S will send a clear message that your business is professional.

Understand the current situation
Evaluations are undertaken of all process flow to determine the actual current situation in people, machines, products, materials and information. This information is used to map the flow on Quality, Cost and Delivery. These "Customer Value Stream Maps" can be developed for any type of business. We can then develop improvement plans the 'Ideal State Map" using this bas data.

We have developed and presented training for Service Management, Service Advisors, Workshop Controllers and foreman as well as Dealership Parts Managers.

Lean Manufacturing

Concepts of Lean
The practical expression of Toyota's people and customer-oriented philosophy is known as LEAN Manufacturing or originally ‘The Toyota Production System’ (TPS). This is not a rigid company-imposed procedure but a set of principles that have been proven in day-to-day practice over many years.
Lean has three desired outcomes:

  1. To provide the customer with the highest quality products, at the lowest possible cost, in a timely manner within the shortest possible lead time.
  2. To provide employees with work satisfaction, job security and fair treatment
  3. To give the companies flexibility to respond to the market demand, achieve profit through cost reduction activities and long-term prosperity.

Establishing 5s

The 5S concept was derived from Japan in the early 1960’s and is designed to assist in providing an efficient, tidy environment and workplace. 

Research has shown that with the correct implementation of 5S there has been an improvement in workflow, job safety, quality, improved customer service and staff morale. 5S can be implemented into the production facility, warehouse, equipment and storage areas and offices.
Management will also realize great benefits through 5S implementation. Establishing employee self discipline through new found standards that engage employees in 5S. Identification and elimination of many kinds of waste movements and processes.
